A lot of people enjoy burning candles in the evening hours or throughout the day. So candles make for a great gift for all kinds of occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day, etc.

What to look for when shopping for candles to give as gifts? Consider the following:

  • Scented vs unscented
  • Jar candles vs pillar candles vs odd shaped candles
  • Candle packaging
  • Shipping time frames
  • Personalized candles
  • Unique candles

What goes well with a candle gift? Bundle the candle with some of the following to make your own candle gift box, set or basket:

  • Food products (candy, jams, coffee, hot chocolate, etc.)
  • Bath & body products (hand lotion, perfume, hand soap, etc.)
  • Beverages (wine, beer, champagne, sparkling water, etc.)
  • Small decor items (photo frames, plants, crystals, etc.)
  • Candle accessories (matches, lighters, candle holders, etc.)

Here are some of my favorite candles that will make great gifts.

Nerdy Candle Gifts

For the nerds on your gift list, these Dungeons & Dragons candles are sure to be well received. There are lots of fun, geeky candles out there that make great gifts (think Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, etc.). Shop nerdy candles

Knot & Bubble Candle Gifts

Bubble cube candles are fun and come it lots of different sizes, colors and scents. For those on your list that always burn through jar candles, consider giving them a candle that’s unique. For home decor enthusiasts, bubble candles look nice displayed on top of books, within bowls, on a tray, etc. Shop bubble candles

Similar to bubble cube candles in shape and size, knot candles make a nice gift for candle lovers. You can find knot candles in smooth styles or styles that look similar to rope & braids. Shop knot candles

Candles with Intentions & Crystals for Gifts

For the stressed & overworked on your list, consider giving them a beautiful intention candle. Intention candles can be used during meditation, relaxing or on altars to help set the mood. Many include crystals such as quartz, dried flowers and herbs in the wax and make for lovely gifts. Shop intention candles

Soy Candles for Gifts

A lot of candle lovers enjoy burning soy wax candles for the numerous environmental and health benefits. Soy candles come in different shapes, sizes and colors. For the eco conscious on your list or those that are sensitive to smells, consider giving them a soy candle instead of a paraffin wax candle. Shop soy candles

Personalized Candles for Gifts

Personalized gifts are a great way to show them you care and put some thought into your gift. Many Etsy sellers offer different ways to personalize candles for gift giving. I like these beautiful amber jar candles with a custom photo a message shown on the label.

Here’s a cute idea for a personalized engagement gift – a candle showing the couple’s names and location that is special to them. I love how the light will shine through the map outlined on the jar candle. The nice thing about a personalized jar candle is that the jar can be reused once the candle is done burning. Shop personalized candles

Unusual Candles for Gifts

For the free spirited and oddballs on your list, consider picking from a wide variety of unique candles. Unique candles can be in different shapes such as these realistic looking strawberries. Or they be might a jar candle with a witty saying or picture.

Not seeing the unique candle you have in mind? Consider reaching out to a seller on Etsy or Amazon Handmade for a customized candle to give as your gift. Shop unique candles

Novelty Candles for Gifts

For those on your list that enjoy a good laugh or something out of the blue, consider giving them a quirky novelty candle. There are many funny candles to pick from that will bring a smile to the recipient’s face. Shop novelty candles

Unique Pillar Candles for Gifts

Pillar candles are always a classic, but to give them as a gift, look for something a little more unique. There are lots of different & beautiful pillar candles out there with specialty wax designs that will really impress. Shop pillar candles

Rude Candles for Gifts

Rude, vulgar and naughty candles are popular at the moment and there are quite a few to choose from. These brash candles are the perfect gift for those in your life that enjoy a good joke. Maybe not so much for grandma though… Shop rude candles

Zodiac Candles for Gifts

Everyone seems to know their sign these days and zodiac inspired home decor is becoming more popular. If you know the sun sign of the gift recipient, consider giving them a zodiac candle as a gift. There are lots of different styles to choose from. Shop zodiac candles
